Look no further! The City of Medicine Hat is on the hunt for a dynamic individual to lead our exciting substation projects. About the Role: As a Senior Engineer, you will be at the helm of managing substation projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will span design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, utilizing both external consultants and our skilled in-house team. The projects you'll be overseeing are focused on maintenance and capacity upgrades within our existing substations, offering you the opportunity to make a significant impact. Our Ideal Candidate: We are seeking someone who can establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies, consultants, and internal staff. Your extensive knowledge of government acts, regulations, codes, and guidelines is crucial. You should bring a wealth of experience in substation design, project engineering, and project management. Your track record of preparing technical analyses to drive strategic planning and business case development is a plus. Additionally, familiarity with construction and project management principles, CAD operations, GIS technology, and modeling applications is highly valued. Lastly, a commitment to our Corporate Safety standards is a must. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or Petroleum). Electrical engineer discipline would be ideal. Seven years of engineering work experience in the electric utility industry, with at least three years as a registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng. ).
