Reporting to the Manager, Project Development Group (PDG) Occupational Health and Safety, North America, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the effective planning and implementation of Occupational Hygiene programs for all aspects of program execution and project design for the Project Development Group. The role is responsible for ensuring that PDG-led projects follow all required Occupational Hygiene aspects of Teck, PDG, Site Operation’s Occupational Hygiene and Health Management Standards, and all applicable Sustainability Policies and regulatory requirements. The role has the equal project responsibility for ensuring the inclusion of Occupational Hygiene within the application of Safety and sustainability through Design for all scopes of project activities to drive the elimination of all potentially fatal or life-changing exposures during both execution of project activities and future operations. The overriding focus for Occupational Hygiene risk management is identifying and effectively controlling all exposures across the project's lifecycle and subsequent operations. The role forms part of a broader Health and safety functional leadership team overseeing and supporting assurance of performance and the continued improvement of OH&S processes and practices within PDG and across all PDG-led projects. In addition to supporting PDG, the role provides Occupational Hygiene support and mentorship to both Teck Exploration Group and Teck Legacy Properties for ~25% of the incumbent's time, respectively.
