Teck is looking for an experienced Group Leader to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Central Shops Superintendent, the Group Leader, Shops is responsible for Trail’s machine shop including manual and automated lathes and milling overseeing approximately 15 people. To be successful, we require someone with excellent supervisory, decision-making and prioritization skills with a high standard for performance and teamwork. This role is based in the welcoming community of Trail, situated in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. Here you will find outdoor adventure at your fingertips! Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Follow the Teck Reliability & Maintenance process in prioritizing, planning and scheduling crews to perform work according to the 13 week schedule to maximize crew utilization and equipment availability. Work collaboratively with other functions in continuously improve and eliminating job delays Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure quality and efficiency adhere to defined standards.
