Reporting to the Sr. Lead, Water Resources, the Energy Coordinator, Water Resources, will be responsible for assisting with efficient management of site water resources at Highland Valley Copper. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to implement Teck’s Water Governance for an extensive water management network servicing operating and legacy tailings facilities, water supply dams, and water supply infrastructure. To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with outstanding problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills; a motivated self-starter, who can remain organized and prioritize contending demands in a fast-paced team environment. Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Data capture and analysis – data mining from the data historian for water flow balancing, and water pumping energy efficiency. Identification and implementation of initiatives and projects to better understand, meter and reduce water and energy consumption at HVC Collaboration with Water Resources, Maintenance, Operations, and Site Engineering stakeholders Case development including resource plans leveraging of BC Hydro funding opportunities Preparation of cases to gain project endorsement Measurement and monitoring plans to verify energy savings Presentations that support safety and energy engagement programs Energy and KPI baselining and reporting Internal and external energy program reporting Decarbonization projects in other areas of our energy portfolio – diesel equipment, natural gas, explosives General duties.
