POSITION TITLE: PHARMACY TECHNICIAN FLSA: NON-EXEMPT REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Current Registered Florida Pharmacy Technician license. Current Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate preferred. Ability to type accurately. Ability to do basic Pharmaceutical math quickly and accurately Experience preparing pharmaceutical labels using pharmacy computer system BLS Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Receives reads, and properly prepares prescription labels. Follow Pharmacy SOP for monitoring medication stock levels, reorders, price, availability, and appropriate inventory levels. Verify eligibility for Medicaid, HCHCP, and other third-party payers. Pull and replace filed prescriptions needing a refill and accomplish other filing as needed. Answer phone, properly respond to questions from physicians, nurses, and patients that are strictly routine in nature and refer other inquiries to the Pharmacist as appropriate. Conduct Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities. Keep a record of numerous statistical data, and ensure availability of pharmaceuticals by alerting Pharmacists to potential out-of-stock and increased usage situations.
