Full-Time (40 hours/week) SUMMARY: The All for Oxford Victim Navigator is an at-will position that reports to the Director of All for Oxford. This position will provide victims, family members, and groups with the psychosocial support needed in the aftermath of the mass violence event in Oxford, Michigan on November 30, 2021. Services may include providing nonjudgmental listening and one-on-one support, advising family caregivers, providing education and guidance, making referrals for other services, creating plans for ongoing support, and tracking client progress with follow-up plans. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Respond to outreach in collaboration with other navigators and work with families over time to keep them connected to services, informed about center activities, and generally supported as they work to heal Provide holistic and comprehensive case management services, including intake assessment, benefit assessment, goal setting, progress monitoring, advocacy, and referrals Stay informed about court proceedings related to shooting-related cases and assist families throughout the process Maintain an awareness of services available throughout the community and assist families served in accessing appropriate resources Maintain a caseload of families as determined by Director, meeting with them in the center, in their homes or virtually Meet with clients on a customized schedule as agreed upon with the Director Follow up with clients and agencies, as appropriate, to document use and success of referrals Collaborate with All for Oxford team to build and adapt programs based on input received from people served Input accurate and complete data for all client contacts into the agency's database Provide all required documentation in a timely manner, which may include client follow-up, outcome evaluation, client contact sheets, and evaluations Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and professional code of ethics RELATED JOB FUNCTIONS: Attend various outreach events as needed in order to support the mission of the Center Support and collaborate with Oakland County Prosecutor Victim Advocates, as requested Perform other job-related duties as assigned SUPERVISION: None REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES KNOWLEDGE OF: Wellness practices Victim advocacy Crisis intervention Active listening SKILL TO: Type, enter data, file and operate office equipment efficiently Maintain productive relationships with individuals seeking services, staff, and vendors Demonstrate proficiency in relevant software/applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) ABILITY TO: Understand and follow verbal and written instructions Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Demonstrate organizational skills with strong attention to detail Maintain confidentiality Work in a multi-disciplinary environment and manage evolving needs Work independently and apply critical thinking and decision making Apply the dynamics of the crisis intervention model and engage in problem solving processes Relate to a diverse population which includes a variety of ages and economic backgrounds Consistently exercise superior customer service skills with both team members and individuals being served Establish and maintain effective and positive relationships with other agencies, community partners, service providers and the public REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in victim services or crisis intervention/mental health services ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical Requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Environmental Working Requirements: This position requires the ability to work in an office environment with exposure to computer screens, working in teams and closely with all staffing levels. The work environment is that of a resiliency center and may subject staff to behavioral and medical events that could be physically hazardous. Other Requirements: Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. Required to have the capacity to travel to various locations within the community. The agency may in its sole discretion fill this position on a full-time, part-time, or contingent basis with the individual best fit to perform the essential functions of the job.
