Job title: Principal Ecologist Salary: GBP45,000 : GBP55,000 Location: Leeds We have a new opportunity for a Principal Ecologist to join a multi: disciplinary consultancy in Leeds. Our clients work involves early engagement at the due diligence or feasibility stage, with a focus on pre: planning protected species surveys, backssments and mitigation design through to post planning works. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including habitat restoration, biodiversity conservation, and environmental impact backssments. The Principal Ecologist position offers: GBP45,000 : GBP55,000 per annum Hybrid working (2 days per week on: site) Competitive benefits package with annual salary reviews. 26 days holiday per year, rising to 31 days with loyalty days, plus bank holidays. As a Principal Ecologist, some of your main duties will be: Technical review for high: level PEA reports, Ec IA, Biodiversity Net Gain backssments and BREEAM 2018 backssments. Supporting technical ecological surveys and desk: based studies. Acting as Expert Witness for Public enquiry Providing pragmatic, commercially aware ecological advice to a portfolio clients. To be considered, you will need: A thorough knowledge of ecological legislation and planning policy in the UK. Ideally have experience in both linear infrastructure and property development projects. Full Membership or approaching of CIEEM and/or Chartered Ecologist status. High level FISC grade. River Condition backssment trained. Bat Licence Level 2 or above. Good BNG experience.
