Job Title: Ecologist (FTC) Rate: GBP200 : GBP400 per day Location: Kent We are looking for an Ecologist to join a unique family: run consultancy based in Kent on a fixed term basis. They play a key role in the rail industry, providing a whole manner of off: track solutions, and minor civils works, in partnership with Network Rail and other major contractors. They are also a leading Arboriculture and Forestry Contractor, with well over a decade of experience and expertise in the forestry sector. They have seen recent significant growth and are proud to be a Principal Contractor and Framework Contractor to Network Rail, as well as having some exciting projects underway in woodland management, timber harvesting, rail and civils works across the country. The Ecologist position offers: Company van with fuel card Parking on: site Flexible working practices Your duties will be: Provide support and in: depth guidance in many aspects of ecological conservation. Assist with management of ecology resources within the company. Assist in the development of ecological management strategies, plans and budget costs as required. Advise on habitat management and current wildlife legislations, as required. Produce technical reports in a timely manner and to a high standard. Review reports of colleagues on a regular basis. Undertake ecological surveying and logistics planning at a variety of sites, as required. Undertake Preliminary Ecological backssments (PEAs), Ecological Impact backssments (ECi As) and Habitat Regulations backssments (HRAs). Lead on protected species surveys and reports, depending on experience and/or survey licenses. Lead on ecological data collation, analysis, monitoring and reporting. Lead on protected species/habitat mitigation measures, depending on experience and survey licences. Lead on implementation, monitoring and evaluation of measures, providing periodic updates.
