Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwide Position Objective(s): The Deputy Manager will assist the Senior Maintenance Manager in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the daily operation and maintenance of the GO Transit/UP Express fleet of vehicles. JOB DUTIES: Responsible for assisting with the performance and supervision of the shop team Provide guidance and coaching to Supervisors and Managers Schedule and attend regular meetings with managers, supervisors, employees, and the customer. Ensure trends in performance are tracked for both safety and production using established KPI for the site. Advise staff on technical and operational matters; Coordinate or assist with investigations for customer issues regarding equipment maintenance; Coordinate or assist with completion of special projects as required; Provide investigation reports and resolution to the SR management team; Assist with preparation and expenditures of the department’s annual budget; Interpret and provide guidance to staff regarding collective agreement. RELATED ACTIVITIES: Participates in the performance evaluation and succession planning of personnel; Monitors departmental and company KPIs and ensures that targets are met or exceeded. Skill factors - Education/ Experience 5 years+ of management responsibility in a manufacturing or maintenance environment; Knowledge of preventative maintenance, work order, lean methodology and scheduling techniques; Ability to read and interpret a Collective Bargaining.
