Maintenance Assistant Monday : Sunday (5 days out of 7) 9am :5pm and 12pm : 8pm GBP13.24 per hour We invite you to join a friendly and passionate team based in the heart of Exeter to help make a positive difference to students living away from home. We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant who has worked in a similar role and environment. If you have great communication and organisation skills, along with the passion to do a great job, we want to hear from you Maintenance Assistant responsibilities include: General maintenance duties such as unblocking drains, replacing door batteries, basic painting, decorating, handyman tasks. Assist with statutory testing including fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and emergency lighting checks Carry out reactive maintenance and provide front line response Ensure that the environment is maintained to a high standard Assist with the moving of white goods and furniture in a safe manner Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residence ensuring all information is passed to the relevant Manager(s) Maintenance Assistant attributes: Good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems Good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner. Prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
