Languages English Education No degree, certificate or diploma Experience1 to less than 7 months Responsibilities Tasks Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy Drive lighter, special purpose trucks Load and unload goods Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Pay and receive payments for goods Perform brake adjustments Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Transport and handle dangerous goods Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Driver's License (Class 1 or A)Experience and specialization Documentation knowledge Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)Type of trucking and equipment Flatbed Tractor-trailer Communication systems experience Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Trip recorder (on-board computer)Additional information Security and safety Driver's validity licence check Transportation/travel information Valid driver's licence Willing to travel cross-border Willing to travel for extended periods Work conditions and physical capabilities Attention to detail Handling heavy loads Overtime required Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Sitting Weight handling Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)Personal suitability Flexibility Judgement Organized Reliability Team player.
