Barnsley Council are seeking 2 Social Workers (Adults Learning Disabilities) to join the team based in Barnsley. You will be working on a permanent basis (37 hours per week) and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £31,099 - £41,496 (career graded) per annum. The Social Worker role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join the Learning Disabilities team in Barnsley. The ideal candidate will have a very good understanding of Mental Capacity Act legislation as well as sound understanding in Human Rights and the Care Act. You will have strong social work values that lead your practice with people, helping them to achieve the best outcomes possible. We are interested in applicants who ideally have experience of, and a passion to work with, adults who have a learning disability and are committed to providing a person centred and strengths based approach to their work. Within the Specialist Care Team, we work with individuals living within a variety of settings to maximise their independence and life opportunities. This role will require management of a varied case load giving the successful applicant the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skill base in multiple areas. As well as the completion of Care Act backssments, capacity backssments and court work. Creativity, ambition and a focus on people. That’s what matters at Barnsley Council.
