Per Se Social Corner is seeking two Sous Chefs for our Vancouver restaurant. Permanent, full-time; 30-40 hours per week; $20.00 per hour. Plus bonus available based on sales performance and 4% vacation pay. Standard 6-8 hour shift for this position could be scheduled anytime between 11am and 11pm as required. Job Description Duties: - Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the superiors to meet the standard and the quality set by the Restaurant; - Responsible to supervise junior chefs or commis; - Able to estimate the daily production needs and checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met; - Ensure that the production, preparation, and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times; - Ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis; - Personally responsible for hygiene, safety and correct use of equipment and utensils; - Has knowledge and skill to train all kitchen positions, systems, and use of equipment. Requirements: - Secondary school diploma required; - English language skills are required; - Minimum 2 years of experience in culinary; - 1 year experience as a sous chef is preferred.
