Practice Area: International Trade,Government - General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, North Miami office of our client seeks associate attorney with 3+ years of direct experience in customs and international trade law (prior government experience helpful). The candidate will provide advice to clients, in a variety of industries, on trade compliance matters (import and/or export matters). Will lead and manage client projects including trade compliance audits, reviews, program development and training among other areas. Support marketing by drafting articles and blogs. Research, write, and review advice. Aid in the management, career development and training of team members. Provide leadership to law clerks and review their work. Must be member in good standing in any state Bar. Outstanding and in-depth experience with U.S. import and export control regulations with the ability to address complex matters with practical advice and solutions essential. Must understand U.S. Customs and Border protection laws and regulations including: the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. (HTSUS), U.S. customs valuation requirements, country of origin marking rules, forced labor rules, intellectual property rights including recordations, detention/seizure cases, mitigating penalty or liquidated damages notices, filing prior disclosures, and developing import compliance and training programs. General export control and sanctions experience: export compliance (EAR and ITAR) including deemed exports, export jurisdiction and classification of complex products, licenses and other ITAR/EAR export authorizations, export control compliance audits/review and assessments, voluntary self-disclosures, advisory opinion requests, classification and developing a trade compliance framework technology control plans, negotiating Consent Agreements, Congressional Notification, EAR de minimis guidelines and developing sustainable export compliance programs.Additional Skills: The candidate should have a JD Degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Must have excellent interpersonal, time management, written and verbal communication/presentation skills with strong technical skills.
