The Field Service Lead Technician will install, replace, and perform routine and preventive maintenance on critical power systems. The Field Service Lead Technician will provide direction and oversite to other technicians while at the jobsite and act as company liaison to the customer. Reporting Relationship: The Field Service Lead Technician reports to the Service Manager. Responsibilities/Accountabilities Install/replace battery systems, related accessories, and hardware Install/replace power electronics equipment/hardware, including wiring and connections Perform preventive maintenance and testing on battery and battery charging systems in UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), Utility, and Telecommunication settings Analysis of job specifications, drawings, and documentation Circuit modifications, including hot-cuts and h- taps Power transition work Addition or removal of circuits on a working power distribution source Equipment turn-up, testing, and programming Installing temporary power plants and batteries on energized system Mark and correct customer drawings Ability to give direction and lead teams Attend and participate in safety training Adhere to all company and industry safety policies and procedures Adhere to applicable customer, industry, and manufacturer's maintenance/installation methods and standards Proper operation of basic tools and test equipment Proper operation of material handling equipment Supply and organize trucks with all equipment necessary to perform job functions Continually train and develop to advance responsibilities Develop and train technicians Perform other job duties as assigned Skills/Knowledge Working knowledge of electrical systems Ability to work with a range of tools, from wrenches to multimeters Possess troubleshooting skills and be able to effectively operate basic equipment Ability to take direction, communication, and supervision from Service Manager and assigned Project Manager Excellent attendance record Excellent communication and customer service skills Efficient in Microsoft Office software Personal Attributes Demonstrates honesty and integrity in work and relationships Demonstrates servant leadership principles with internal and external customers Demonstrates innovation/creativity in work Possesses strong work ethic and takes ownership of both company and client goals/objectives Focused on understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations Focused on collaboration and teamwork for the mutual success of the company and its employees Conforms to company policies and procedures and meets company goals and objectives; protects company assets and interests Excellent attendance record Travel Expectations Up to 25% based on HMC projects and time of year Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Must have and be able to maintain a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per HM Cragg insurance carrier standard Must pass a physical exam, background check and pre-employment drug screening Required travel to customer sites out of town for overnight and/or extended periods of time Must be able to work flexible hours, days, and overtime, as needed Ability to lift items up to 150 multiple times a day Ability to obtain Class C Commercial Driver's License where required by state law Must maintain compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) random drug and alcohol screening requirements
