Big Guy Properties is a growing Property Management company expanding from the residential property sector into storage unit facilities and commercial properties. We are looking for a driven professional who has experience in providing vision and the development of strategic solutions to support the financial success of an organization; someone who can provide strategic financial insight to the Owner; is an expert at planning, implementing, managing, and owning all financial and accounting related activities of the organization. The ideal candidate will also have the experience, education, and attitude to take on complex, multiple-entity accounting. *This is a fully remote opportunity* The successful candidate: Is outstanding in their ability to accurately analyze data and present that information in a clear and precise manner. Creates new policies and programs that promote efficiency throughout the organization. Has a strong desire to help the people around them succeed. Expands relationships with vendors and customers that support the company’s mission for excellence in service and growth. Looks for opportunities to increase their knowledge and skills and shares with those around them such that they make the team better. Strong Management skills with experience in managing performance to results. The ability to provide a high-level overview of all financial activities within a multi-entity organization. Has a solid understanding of real estate and storage accounting. Responsibilities to own: Completing full and accurate financial and statistical reporting and presenting all financial information in a clear and precise manner Overseeing bank compliance and reporting Managing/directing accounting staff Managing cash disbursements Entering new property purchases into property management system Payroll accounting Handling complex accounting systems and processes Developing and overseeing strategies and financing methods for resolving capital needs of properties i.e. managing the real estate schedule and asset overview process. Providing pre-acquisition input and assistance in due diligence process, including review of financial and operational assumptions, and supporting the effort of originating and negotiating debt financing Positioning each asset for optimal financial performance through such activities as budgeting, monitoring financial performance and refinancing debt. Managing coordination of post-acquisition activities and integration of asset into the ownership portfolio Ensuring that accounting processes related to rent collections and documentation of related work is impeccable - Managing the team will be key here. Set regularly occurring meetings with the staff accountant, virtual assistants, and property managers to assure that all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Oversight of Insurance and Tax Compliance (property, franchise, sales, state, and local municipalities) The Requirements: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting 5+ years’ experience as a Controller Advanced in accounting software Advanced MS Office Suite Experience with Rent Manager 12 is a plus Excellent leadership skills Experience in accounting positions supporting Real Estate and Storage related businesses The Compensation Package: $110k - 130k salary (DOE) + Comprehensive benefits: Heath, Dental and Vision insurance, FSA, company-provided financial wellness tool, plus retirement with matching that is 100% vested form the time contributions start. ****All offers of employment are contingent upon passing completing a background check**** EEO Statement: At foodguys, we're all about equal opportunities.
