POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Program Director is responsible for the successful operation of the Burke County Family YMCA Membership, Youth Development Programs, and Aquatics Programs. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the incumbent develops, organizes, and implements high quality membership and program(s) in accordance with the YMCA of Greater Augusta mission, policies, and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops, implements, and manages membership, marketing, sales, and retention plans to promote membership growth. Coordinates special events and activities. Directs membership sales. Manages membership campaigns and guiding tour activities, including staff training for tours and overseeing the schedule of tours Develops effective working relationships with service groups, community organizations, and companies, including making presentations. Manages, directs, and coordinates the school age childcare programs for Burke County including but not limited to: Summer/Specialty/Seasonal Camps, After-School Care, Play & Learn Operations, Parents Night Out, and other Special Events. Responsible for supervision, operations, and maintenance of Burke County's outdoor pools. Assists in scheduling all aquatics related training for the Burke County Aquatics Department. Implements revenue generating aquatics programs for members and program participants. Organizes and coordinates revenue-generating rentals for all in-hours and outside groups to include Burke Health, Adaptive, Swim Lessons, Aquatics Birthday Parties, etc. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities to actively engage and promote a healthy Mind, Body, and Spirit. Create and implement curriculum and lesson plans for programs. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluate staff performance; Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living. Ensures programs are always in staff/child ratio. Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program and facility areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed. Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time. Develops and maintains relationships with school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. Actively participates and supports the Annual Campaign and Donor Recognition Accepts and demonstrates the Character Development Values of Caring, Honest, Respect, and Responsibility. Ensures that agreements between the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta, Board of Education, and school Principal are followed (use of school equipment, facility usage, etc.) Attends the Membership Cabinet meetings, and the trainings as required Attends the Youth Development and Camp Cabinet meetings, and trainings as required. Attends the Aquatics Cabinet, and trainings as required. Performs all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree preferred. Must have education/work experience to meet the BFTS qualifications. Minimum age 21 years old. Previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp setting. Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid. Successfully complete a minimum of 10 DHS training hours annually. Successfully complete curriculum training: YMCA School-Age Curriculum. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred. Able to build good rapport with children, parents, and school administrative staff.
