Job Title Prototype Process Operator/ Mechanic Location Houston, Texas Reports to VP of Innovations Job summaryResponsible for safely and efficiently operating and troubleshooting the prototype manufacturing line.Summary of essential job functions Sustains knowledge, skills and abilities required for equipment and processes assigned. Maintain high-efficiency operations and monitor manufacturing controls, gauges, and instruments. Set up and operate machines according to detailed specifications and instructions. Responsible for preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment Responsible for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repairs Maintain correct quality, weight, and other characteristics of the products produced. Inspect and test finished products for quality and accuracy including performing stiffness and barrier tests. Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers. Ability to assemble and disassemble machine parts. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of facility and equipment including cleaning water filters and small tanks. Works as part of the team, communicates well with personnel at all organizational levels in a professional manner, and maintains a respectful work environment. Minimum requirements Good understanding of process control and/or excellent mechanical aptitude High school education with above average math & communication skills In order to be considered for this position candidates are required to submit an application for employment through our career site and willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.Experience required5+ years' experience of operating process equipment. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to talk and/or listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, to reach with hands and arms, climb ladders and stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch and push or pull on objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. This position will require the use of safety equipment and clothing, including eye and hearing protection, hard hats, and respiratory protection and safety shoes. Where noise levels exceed allowable limits, hearing protection is required and provided.
