Responsibilities:The position requires teaching 6 periods of coursework in a 75-minute teaching period every other day rotation. Close collaboration with colleagues, posting to the CANVAS learning management system, and regular communication with parents regarding student progress is emphasized. Additionally, there are various extra-curricular opportunities available.Requirements:The ideal candidate should have a master's degree as this position will likely have honors and advanced placement offerings in Government and American History.At least two years of high school instructional experience is preferred, and the ability to work collaboratively, flexibility in assigned courses to teach within the department, and the ability to support the mission of the school are essential.The candidate should also have a State of Florida teacher certification or eligibility to obtain within two years, the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check, fulfill the requirements of the E-Verify program, and pass a drug screen.Full-time; Exempt (August through early June; 190 days)Benefits:The position offers a full range of benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurance with optional riders, a 401(k) matched at 5% contribution- fully vested after one year of service, and STD and LTD (paid for by the school).The candidate will also have two weeks off at Christmas, one week for spring break, and national holidays.
