Position Disability Coordinator Reports To Academic Manager Department Academics FLSA STATUS Exempt - Full Time Primary Position Objectives Plans, organizes, and implements the Center Disability. Brief Description of Duties Responsible for the development and implementation of non-health and wellness-related disability accommodations. Identify if accommodation is needed and reasonable, ensuring the process is thorough and appropriate. Conducts an assessment of disabled students’ CTT and recreational offerings and evaluates the effectiveness of the program to meet the needs of disabled students. Set up and accurately maintain accommodation files. Monitor, track, and follow up on the effectiveness of accommodations (AERs) at least every 60 days or more frequently as needed. Respond to Disability Referrals from all departments and conduct a DAC with students as soon as possible and as needed. Participate in Pre-Arrival DACs (Interactive Process) with applicants prior to arrival when enrollment has been established, upon arrival, or as soon as documentation of a disability is received. Meet with all new students during CPP to discuss the Disability program. Assists disabled students in handling special problems. Ensure that the student handbook has updated current information regarding the Disability program . Ensure New Staff Orientation Disability Accommodation training (must be completed via Job Corps Learning Management System). Attend mandatory Disability Orientation: Part 1: Applicant File Review: 1a (AFR Policy) 1b (AFR Process) 1c (AFR Maintaining the AFR Tracking) Part 2: Disability Accommodation: 2a (Disability Accommodation Policy) 2b (Disability Accommodation Process) Part 3: Disability Data and Accommodation Plan Entry/Notes Part 4: General Disability and Other Disability Requirements Provide information to students during CTR (transition) on disability disclosure and educate students about making an informed decision about disclosing their disability in educational, employment, and social settings. Assist the Center with developing Community Partnerships that will allow center staff to enhance the services and resources provided to students with disabilities and ensure that students will also be provided support and services after Job Corps. Assist the Center with creating an accessibility plan based on the completion of the Americans with Disabilities Act Checklist for Readily Achievable Barrier Removal and Center Accessibility Tool. Works towards meeting performance standard goals. Adheres to required property control policies and procedures. Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices. Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Serrato policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures. Demonstrates and abides by Serrato Corporation’s core values and operating principles. Follows CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily. Models, mentors, monitors appropriate Career Success Standards. Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement. Participation in PRH mandated staff training is necessary. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel. Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, ans basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge of counseling students with disabilities. High level of communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. High level of patience and compassion for students. Experience One-year related experience working with youth. One year of experience working with the special education department is preferred. Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid State Driver’s License.
