Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking a full-time Planned Giving Officer responsible for coordinating the overall planned giving program including marketing, program development and stewardship designed to grow planned giving support for Nebraska Wesleyan University. This position is also responsible for engaging and facilitating the philanthropy of planned gift donors. Responsibilities: Plans and implements programs designed to inform all university constituents about the advantages of estate and gift planning, including development of marketing strategies, marketing materials and direct mail. Maintains tracking system, including expectancy database, files, records, and call reports for planned giving donors and donor prospects. Identifies, cultivates and solicits planned giving and major gift donor prospects; conducts a full schedule of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship visits. Collaborates with advancement colleagues regarding appropriate stewardship of their assigned planned giving donors. Assures appropriate acknowledgement and stewardship for all current planned giving donors. Provides information on planned giving appropriate to the situations of individual donor prospects, prepares individualized solicitation materials and provides technical support. Juris Doctorate preferred. Minimum of five years of fundraising experience including specific experience with planned giving and/or financial planning. Must have strong professional writing and interpersonal communication skills. A b ility to w o rk i ndependen tl y , p r i o r i ti z e ta sks an d m ee t dead l i ne Ability to demonstrate commitment to collaboration and appreciative inquiry. Ability to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders within and outside of the campus community. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to listen for understanding. Commitment to integrity and protection of confidential information. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and online video conferencing applications (Zoom).
