We are seeking an associate attorney who is hard-working, driven, and hungry to be in the courtroom. This position will handle personal injury and wrongful death cases in pre-litigation and litigation. The ideal candidate is someone who desires to develop advanced litigation and trial skills with the goal of becoming an exceptional trial lawyer. Compensation and benefits commensurate with experience. Responsibilities:• Handling personal injury and wrongful death cases from intake through disbursement. • Effectively conducting investigation and discovery that is aimed at increasing case value and accelerating case resolution.• Taking depositions with purpose and tenacity.• Drafting and arguing motions at a high level.• Researching law, experts, and other issues, and preparing detailed memoranda and legal briefs.• Treating clients like family.• Being a leader and a good teammate. Qualifications:• This position is best suited for someone with strong civil litigation experience handling personal injury and wrongful death cases on behalf of plaintiffs in South Carolina. Trial experience is preferred.• Exceptional legal research and writing abilities. • In-depth understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence and related case law.• Must have extensive experience taking depositions, drafting and responding to written discovery, drafting/arguing motions, and handling day-to-day case development and management. • Ability to work autonomously and with direction from managing partner. • An individual who is highly ethical, motivated, and will go the extra mile for clients. Compensation: $90,000 - $250,000+ per year About Company: We are a Plaintiff's personal injury law firm with a statewide practice located in downtown Charleston.
