Job Description The lifeguard is responsible for enforcing safety protocols as set by the community. Monitoring the activity of residents and guests and ensuring their safety. Reporting any damages or incidents to the Community and Maintenance Managers. Managing the swimming pool cleaning, testing schedule and performing daily inspections. Responsibilities Supervises swimming activities at the community pool and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. Warns swimmers of improper activities, conduct, or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies. Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or in danger of drowning, and administers CPR and or artificial respiration, if necessary. Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates pool emergency action plan as required. Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable. Supervises and assists in cleaning of the pool, related facilities, and equipment, assists with chemicals and water testing as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Red Cross Lifesaving Certificate. CPR Certified. Minimum of 6 months of related work experience. Ability to lift / move up to 100 pounds. Knowledge and ability to evaluate water conditions to determine any potential dangers or hazards. Ability to manage swimmers and pool deck as necessary to ensure the safety of residents and guests. Swimming proficiency and comfort in all types of water conditions. Ability to evaluate evolving dynamics of individuals swimming to immediately assess their capabilities and threats to their safety. Knowledge of onsite protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies. Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing onsite emergency medical services. Powered by JazzHR
