WHO WE ARE At Tulsa Honor Academy (THA), we are on a mission to equip all scholars with the academic skills, content knowledge, and ethical character required for college graduation and life success. We work relentlessly to ensure 100% of scholars are on a path to go to and graduate from a college of their choice, beginning in the fifth grade. Opening our doors in 2015 with 92 fifth grade scholars, THA will grow to serve over 1,300 scholars in grades 5-12 across our two campuses in the 2024-2025 academic year. The School Leader Fellow is a rising leader who will actively train in the skills necessary to effectively lead a Tulsa Honor Academy School, as a principal, in alignment with the THA Vision. Through direct practice and application, the School Leader Fellow will master leadership of instruction, school culture, and operations while adding capacity to our school leadership teams and the THA Network Office. The School Leader Fellow will work with the Chief Academic Officer and each Site Principal throughout their Fellowship to plan how they will master the competencies needed to lead a high-performing school. Principal Fellows should be “in the driver’s seat” of their learning and should feel empowered to take advantage of all opportunities to build their leadership. The School Leader Fellow will participate in and facilitate a wide range of professional development sessions. The School Leader Fellow will also manage a variety of projects that will bring to life the THA Vision. The School Leader Fellow will be prepared to take the role of principal, either in temporary service as needed, or assuming the role as a full time Interim Principal. Ensure all scholars complete the cognitive work during the lesson, such as reading, writing, discussion, analysis, meaning-making, computation, and problem-solving Display that you value risk-taking, especially when the work is challenging. Expect all scholars to attempt all work, take academic risks, and learn from their mistakes. Structure Driven School - You sacrifice autonomy in exchange for consistency and commitment to a shared definition of excellence. Capacity building: Fill gaps to support teams as needed. Project Management: Sees projects through to successful completion. Mobilizes, motivates, and equips necessary stakeholders to drive results. Academic Achievement: Identify and successfully address gaps in academic performance across the network. School Culture: Identify and successfully address gaps in school culture across the network in alignment with the THA vision. School Operations: Identify and successfully address gaps in school operations across the network Adult Learning: Add to schools’ capacity to grow in teacher and leader effectiveness. THE DETAILS Qualifications/Certifications Bachelor’s degree required Master’s Degree preferred Active state certification preferred Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred Experience 2 years of experience as a Teacher with a proven track record of academic growth and achievement required 1 year of school or district leadership required (Principal, Assistant Principal, Deans, Instructional Coach, Director, etc.) Charter school experience is strongly preferred Role School Leader Fellow will work on THA’s Network Team and report to the Chief Academic Officer. Full time, year round, exempt. Compensation and Benefits THA’s starting salary range for this role begins at $67,000. Salary is commensurate with experience in the education field.
