Are you an experienced accounting professional and people manager? Are you looking for a new leadership opportunity to serve your community? The City of Blair is currently seeking qualified individuals for a Senior Accounting Manager position . In this dynamic role, you'll serve as Deputy Treasurer, and play a key part in all financial operations of the City of Blair. The Senior Accounting Manager also assists in developing departmental policies, supports the annual audit, and manages the training and development of finance staff. This position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. What You'll Do: Oversee the utility billing process, a key source of revenue for the City. Provide technical training on Finance Department functions, fostering a continuous learning environment within a small team that you lead. Prepare annual statements. Manage accounts payable/receivable. Prepare complex analysis as needed for the Finance Director. Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. We're looking for a people manager with: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar business field 5 years of accounting or finance experience, with 2 years in supervisory role, and a proven track record of leading a team The ability to take initiative and independently manage tasks Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel spreadsheet formulas Experience with accounting software, which is required. Bonus Points for: Certifications - CPA, CPFO, or CGFO. This is a full-time exempt position with benefits that start on Day One! The City of Blair is an EEO employer.
